Govinda to NOT star in Bhagam Bhag 2? Actor says, ‘Nobody has approached me’

Akshay Kumar, Govinda, and Paresh Rawal starrer Bhagam Bhag was released 18 years ago. The film, which tickled our funny bones, was directed by Priyadarshan. There have been multiple reports that the second installment of the comedy film is now officially in the works with the OG cast. However, in a recent interview, Govinda revealed that 'nobody has approached him' for the film yet. Read on to know all the details!

Govinda is not a part of Bhagam Bhag 2?

Recently, in an interview with Mid-day, Govinda revealed that he hasn't been approached for the sequel to the comedy film Bhagam Bhag yet. He said, “Nobody has approached me for Bhagam Bhag 2 or sat down for a discussion. There are stories of me doing not just Bhagam Bhag 2, but many other sequels, including Partner."

As reported earlier, the script of Bhagam Bhag 2 is almost ready and the film is set to go on floors in mid-2025. While more details about the film are still kept under wraps, the makers have promised that the sequel will be “madder, crazier and funnier.”

For the uninitiated, filmmaker Sarita Ashwin Varde of Roaring River Productions has acquired the rights from Shemaroo Entertainment. She will be bankrolling the film along with Shemaroo. Talking about what took so long, she said, “A special film like Bhagam Bhag deserves a sequel that’s just as much special; when the time was right, we decided to take the plunge.”
