In a tragic turn of events, Bollywood actor Govinda was hospitalized in the early hours of Tuesday, October 1, 2024, after accidentally misfiring his gun and shooting himself in the leg. Reportedly, the actor injured his knee when the bullet struck his leg. He was immediately taken to the hospital. Fortunately, reports confirm that Govinda is now out of danger, and the bullet has been successfully removed from his knee. Read on to know all the details. 

Govinda Shot in the Leg

Sharing the update on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, ANI wrote: “Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda has been taken to the nearest hospital after he was accidentally shot in the leg by his own revolver this morning, says a senior Mumbai Police official. More details awaited.” According to the agency, the incident occurred at around 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday when the film star was checking his gun before leaving his house. There are no updates on where the actor was headed at the time.

According to police reports, the gun that Govinda, a Bollywood actor and Shiv Sena leader, was carrying was licensed. Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, has since provided an update, confirming that the star is out of danger and that the bullet has been removed from his leg. Speaking about the unfortunate incident, Sinha explained that Govinda was in the process of securing his licensed revolver in its case when it slipped from his hand, discharging a bullet that hit his leg.

Govinda Is Out of Danger

In a statement given to the same agency, Sinha said, “Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was getting ready to leave for Kolkata. He was keeping his licensed revolver in its case when it fell from his hand, and a bullet was accidentally fired, hitting his leg. The doctor has removed the bullet, and his condition is fine. He is currently in the hospital.”

There are no further details on why Govinda was carrying his gun. He remains in a Mumbai hospital, undergoing the necessary treatment. More updates are expected soon, and we wish him a speedy recovery.
