Gopichand-Sreenu Vaitla’s film wraps up Milan schedule; watch video

Director Sreenu Vaitla, who last wielded the megaphone for the Ravi Teja starrer Amar Akbar Anthony, is back in action with another entertainer. He’s returning to his comfort zone - an actioner with a healthy dose of humour - while teaming up with Gopichand for the first time in his career. The film is produced by noted entrepreneur Venu Donepudi under Chitralayam Studios.

The film recently went on floors with a grand schedule in Italy where a few key scenes and a song were shot. The director, today, announced that the schedule has concluded and shared a video glimpse on social media. While the film’s female lead has still been kept under wraps, the glimpse says a thing or two about the film’s scale and the team appears to have had a jolly-good time on sets.

The filmmaker is seen involving in active discussions with his assistants, cinematographer KV Guhan and choreographer Sekhar master in shoot locations. Tentatively titled Gopichand 32, the commercial entertainer is expected to release in the first half of 2024. Gopichand is also shooting for the cop saga Bhimaa, directed by A Harsha, backed by KK Radhamohan.

Gopimohan, Sreenu Vaitla’s frequent collaborator, is coming up with the film’s screenplay. Right during the pooja ceremony, the producer announced that Gopichand 32 will be shot across many countries. The supporting cast for the film hasn’t been announced yet. Chaitan Bharadwaj, whose Gam Gam Ganesha is also releasing soon, has been roped in as the music director.

Earlier, there were reports that the director was to join hands with Vishnu Manchu for the sequel to Dhee, though it looks like the project has been put on hold for now. The latter already commenced shoot for Kannappa, a multistarrer devotional drama. One of Sreenu Vaitla’s biggest hits - Dookudu - starring Mahesh Babu, Samantha completed its 12th release anniversary recently.
