Google India on Tuesday celebrated the upcoming Kannada magnum opus Kantara Chapter 1. The search engine giant took to social media to express its excitement about the film's breathtaking teaser, featuring Rishab Shetty in a never-before-seen avatar. 

"2024 got more exciting saw the ಕಾಂತಾರ teaser, and just want to say wooooooaaaah," tweeted Google India, adding to the hype surrounding the upcoming movie. 

As per the Google search, Kantara Chapter 1 is set to release next year. However, industry insiders suggest otherwise. With principal photography yet to begin and considering the grand scale of the project, insiders believe the filmmakers will need more than a year to complete the entire production.

Kantara Chapter 1 is a prestigious project for Hombale Films, the production house behind the KGF series and the upcoming Salaar. On Tuesday, the film was officially launched at the Kundapura Anegudde temple with a special puja ceremony. through a special puja ceremony. The filmmakers consider the temple very auspicious, having previously launched Kantara (2022) at the same venue.

Kantara went on to become one of the highest-grossing Indian films in 2022 and made Rishab a household name across the country.

Kantara Chapter 1 will narrate the events preceding those in Kantara, adding depth to the expanding saga. 

The filmmakers caught the imagination of everyone with the awe-inspiring teaser, revealing the mythical avatar of Rishab Shetty. In addition to writing and directing the film, Rishab is also essaying the lead role. 

The teaser suggested that the entire narrative is set during the period of the Kadamba dynasty. With flowing hair and a sculpted physique, Rishab appeared like Lord Shiva. The teaser has promised an intense drama, filled with larger-than-life action sequences and fascinating visual elements. 

The estimated budget for Kantara 1 is around Rs 100 crore, surpassing the production costs of Kantara 2 by over six times.
