Goodachari was a smash hit at the Telugu box office, propelling Adivi Sesh to new heights of stardom. Now, he is filming the second part of the Goodachari franchise. The project recently made headlines when the original female lead, Shruti Haasan, exited for unknown reasons. In her place, the makers brought in Mrunal Thakur.
The latest update reveals that the film also had scope for another female lead, and Wamiqa Gabbi has been cast in the role. The makers unveiled the first look of her character today. Wamiqa plays Agent 116, an action-packed role that shows she means business, as highlighted by the intense poster released alongside the announcement.
Adivi Sesh has penned the script for the film, which is directed by Vinay Kumar. Currently, the shoot is happening in Paris, and Wamiqa has already joined the team. Vinay Kumar previously worked as an assistant director for Goodachari and Major, both starring Sesh, making him a natural choice for this project.
Wamiqa Gabbi recently gained attention for her role in Baby John, although the film, starring Varun Dhawan and produced by Atlee, did not perform well at the box office. Despite this, her performance stood out, and fans are eager to see her in Goodachari 2.
The sequel to Goodachari faced delays before going on floors, partly due to Sesh’s meticulous approach to filmmaking, often working with modest budgets and at a relaxed pace. However, Shruti Haasan’s exit also contributed to the delay, as her scenes had to be entirely reshot with Mrunal Thakur.
Goodachari 2 marks Sesh’s return as a spy in what is touted as the most expensive project of his career to date. The film’s scale and budget surpass his previous works, heightening anticipation. Music for the film will be composed by Sricharan Pakala, adding to the action-drama’s excitement. Stay tuned for more updates as the makers continue to roll out promotional material in the coming days.
