The 82nd Annual Golden Globes, widely regarded as “Hollywood’s Party of the Year,” is one of the most prestigious award ceremonies, celebrating excellence in both film and television. On January 6, 2025, over 185 countries and territories will broadcast this globally acclaimed event live.

In India, the event will stream exclusively on Lionsgate Play (OTTplay Premium) at 5:30 AM IST for the pre-show and at 6:30 AM IST for the awards ceremony. The multi-Emmy Award-winning producing duo Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner of White Cherry Entertainment produce the event, while Dick Clark Productions plans, hosts, and produces the show.

Host of the Event

A woman will host the Golden Globes solo for the first time in history. Nikki Glaser, an acclaimed comedian, actress, and Emmy, Grammy, and Golden Globe-nominated host, will take the stage, marking a significant milestone for the event's history.

Presenters Lineup

An impressive lineup of presenters will grace the stage, including some of the most celebrated names from the entertainment industry: Andrew Garfield, Anthony Mackie, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ariana DeBose, Aubrey Plaza, Awkwafina, Brandi Carlile, Colman Domingo, Colin Farrell, Demi Moore, Dwayne Johnson, Elton John, Glenn Close, Jennifer Coolidge, Kaley Cuoco, Michelle Yeoh, Nicolas Cage, Rachel Brosnahan, Seth Rogen, Viola Davis, and Zoë Kravitz.

Indian Representation

Payal Kapadia's film All We Imagine As Light has achieved a landmark by securing two major nominations: Best Motion Picture—Non-English Language and Best Director—Motion Picture (Payal Kapadia).

This marks a significant moment for the Indian film industry, celebrated widely by netizens and celebrities alike.

The nominations for the Film Categories celebrate outstanding cinematic achievements across drama, musical/comedy, and animation. Contenders for Best Motion Picture—Drama include Dune: Part Two and The Brutalist, while Anora and Wicked vie for Best Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy. Animated favourites like Inside Out 2 and Moana 2 compete for Best Animated Feature. In acting categories, Kate Winslet (Lee) and Angelina Jolie (Maria) lead the Best Actress—Drama race, while Timothée Chalamet (A Complete Unknown) and Colman Domingo (Sing Sing) shine among Best Actor—Drama nominees. Notable films like Deadpool & Wolverine and Wicked also received recognition in the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category.

The Diplomat and Shōgun dominate the Best Television Series—Drama category, while Abbott Elementary and The Bear are favourites for Best Musical or Comedy Series. Emma D’Arcy (House of the Dragon) and Anna Sawai (Shōgun) are among the top contenders for Best Actress in a Drama Series. Original scores and songs also received recognition, with Hans Zimmer (Dune: Part Two) and Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (Challengers) leading the music nominations, while original songs like Beautiful That Way from The Last Showgirl stand out.

Where to Watch in India 

Lionsgate Play (OTTplay Premium) will broadcast the event exclusively in India, as well as in other SAARC countries, including Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, along with Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
