The Bear and Beef have been winning awards all night long among the comedies and limited series, and both their victories at Best Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture for the TV and Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy were well-deserved.
While Beef fought neck-to-neck with the likes of Daisy Jones & the Six, All the Light We Cannot See, Fellow Travelers, Fargo, and Lessons in Chemistry, The Bear went on a full rampage against all Musical or Comedy shows on TV, not letting any other scoop its awards.
The Bear was up against tough contenders like Ted Lasso, Abbott Elementary, Jury Duty, Barry, and Only Murders in the Building but emerged victorious at the top. With seven nominations, right after Succession, The Bear has a high chance of emerging among the toppers of the award ceremony at this rate.
While the important crew members and actors of both the projects graced the stage, Ali Wong and Lionel Boyce mainly spoke for their respective teams, thanking their family, both reel and real, for making this dream of theirs come true.
Lionel Boyce took his thank you speech to the next level by crediting the highly dedicated yet un-thanked ‘restaurant community’. The actor noted how difficult it is for them to portray their realities on screen for by shooting a few hours a day as the character, while the real workers slave night and day.
He concluded by thanking the restaurant workers as they ‘embrace’ The Bear and its actors for telling their story. The Bear is streaming on Hulu, while Beef resides at Netflix. As for the Golden Globes 2024, it can be streamed on Lionsgate Play and OTTplay premium January 8, 2024, onwards.
