Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara-starrer Gold marks Alphonse Puthren first directorial in seven years and each promotional material from the film proves that the filmmaker still has the magic to keep the audience engrossed. The latest is a ‘360 degree’ poster filled with all the characters of its stellar ensemble cast.
Prithviraj shared the vibrant poster through his social media page on Monday, and we can bet the users have been doing full circles with their phones to see who all are present in this ‘interactive’ 2D image that probably only someone with Alphonse’s genius could have pulled off.
While the teaser that was released in March introduced the audience to its lead characters of Joshi S and Sumangali Unnikrishnan, played by Prithviraj and Nayanthara respectively, the poster offers us the first glimpses of characters essayed by Lalu Alex, Saiju Kurup, Shabareesh Varma, Mallika Sukumaran, Prem Kumar, Baburaj, Deepti Sati, Shammi Thilakan, Abu Salim, Ajmal Ameer, Jagadeesh and Althaf Salim.
That’s not all; some of the other actors we could spot from the poster include Krishna Sankar, Roshan Mathew, Vinay Forrt, Sabumon Abdusamad, Jaffer Idukki and Chemban Vinod.
In an earlier social media post, Alphonse, who has scripted, directed and edited the film along with handling its animation, visual effects and action choreography, said that Gold is different from his previous films Neram and Premam, while also maintaining, tongue in cheek of course, that it’s “the third film in the world that doesn’t offer anything new”.
On the seven-year gap between Premam and Gold, the director said he had worked on almost 25 projects between the two films. He had even a musical titled Paattu, with Fahadh Faasil and Nayanthara two years ago, but the movie was put on the backburner due to the pandemic. He began work on Gold and completed its shoot last year. The makers are yet to announce if Gold will be an OTT or theatrical release.
