The March release of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is now available on OTT. The monster film is available to rent on Prime Video. It's the 38th Godzilla and 13th King Kong film, the fifth in the Monsterverse franchise, and the sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong (2021). You can watch the film for Rs. 499 on the OTT platform until it's available to all subscribers.
Adam Wingard is once again on the wheel. Among the actors featured in the film are Fala Chen, Alex Ferns, Dan Stevens, Brian Tyree Henry, Kaylee Hottle, and Rebecca Hall. Hottle, Henry, and Hall all return from the last film. In order to prevent the invasion of Earth by their despot and his icy monster, Kong must once again join forces with Godzilla after meeting more members of his species in Hollow Earth.
The grand conflict is far from over! After the spectacular clash of Godzilla vs. Kong, Legendary Pictures' Monsterverse takes audiences on an all-new adventure in which Godzilla and Kong face off against a gigantic, undetected danger that lurks within our globe. This danger threatens not only their lives, but also ours. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire further explores the epic conflict that shaped these exceptional monsters and forever bound them to humanity, along with the origin stories and mysteries of Skull Island and beyond.
Jeremy Slater, Simon Barrett, and Terry Rossio wrote the script, which was based on a story about the character Godzilla that TOHO Co., Ltd. owned and created. Michael Rogers, Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Thomas Tull, and Eric McLeod were the producers of the picture. Kenji Okuhira, Yoshimitsu Banno, Wingard, Jen Conroy, and Jay Ashenfelter are the executive producers.
The film received mixed reviews, with many drawing negative comparisons to Godzilla: Minus One. On a budget of $135–150 million, it became the highest-grossing Godzilla film of all time and the second-highest-grossing film of 2024, with a global gross of $558.5 million. Plans are afoot to create a sequel.
