Trust director MG Srinivas to do something innovative with the first song of his upcoming action heist thriller, Ghost, which has Century Star Shivarajkumar in the lead. Earlier today, the much-anticipated first song/track from the film, called OGM (Original Gangster Music) was released, ahead of the film’s October 19 theatrical outing. Since Ghost is releasing in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam, Srinivas thought it apt to target all at one go. OGM, as such, features Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and English lines, eliminating the need to have multiple versions.
The song, composed by Arjun Janya, features singers like Aishwarya Rangarajan, MC Chetan, Jithin Raaj and Nishan Rai. This is the full-length version of the background score heard in the Big Daddy teaser. Since OGM came out, fans have been listening to it on loop, declaring that Arjun has managed to hit it out of the park with this composition.
Ghost, which is an action heist thriller, is Srinivas’ first collaboration with Shivarajkumar, but going by his vision for it to merge with his Birbal franchise, it will definitely not be the last. In fact, Ghost has been envisioned as a two-part film, with the first releasing this Dasara. Although Srinivas has been highlighting the gangster portion of Shivarajkumar’s character in the film, that bit comprises only about 20% of the narrative. Much of the story, which is told within a 48-hour time-frame, takes place within a prison, the filmmaker had explained, adding that Ghost does not feature a heroine, special or introduction songs. The film brings Malayalam and Tamil actor Jayaram and Bollywood actor Anupam Kher to Kannada cinema.
Only a day ago, the team had revealed that producer Sandesh Nagaraj managed to tie up with Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios for the Hindi version release, which will, in effect, ensure a massive outing for the Shivarajkumar-led film.
