The much-awaited Ghost trailer is here and fans, as it turns out, have much to love about it. After Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan’s blockbuster comebacks, it’s time for Shivanna, they declare. But what has impressed them the most is the digital de-aging that’s been done for some portions of the film, a glimpse of which director MG Srinivas gave in the trailer. “Crazy de-aging,” wrote many, with some chiming in with, “VINTAGE look of Shivanna in #Ghost De-aging is done perfectly. That walk though🤌🤌Reminds of OM”, and “The de-aging makes Shivanna look like he did in Samyukta”, among others.
When director MG Srinivas had announced that he would be deploying technology to de-age the actor in the film, OTTplay had spoken to him. “"There is a significant portion in Ghost that requires us to use the de-ageing process and we are currently in talks with a Vancouver-based agency about it. While I can't reveal the exact significance of this portion, I can tell you that we are not doing it for the sake of vanity or just to please audiences with fancy technology. The storyline of Ghost sees his character in multiple different shades and de-aging is a crucial part of the vision,” he had said.
Ghost is an action heist thriller the narrative of which unfolds majorly in a prison. The Big Daddy gangster portions, meanwhile, will only be about 20% of the narrative, the filmmaker had explained. Ghost, produced by Sandesh Nagaraj’s Sandesh Productions, also stars Anupam Kher, Archana Jois and Jayaram in pivotal roles. The film has music by Arjun Janya and will be in theatres on October 19. The team has tied up with Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios for the film’s Hindi distribution.
