The team of the upcoming film Ghost is currently in the last lap of promotions. Started as a Kannada film, which took wing and soared way beyond their expectations, Ghost is now a big-time pan-India release looking at capturing a chunk of the Dasara market. On October 19, Ghost releases in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam, with the Telugu version landing a week later, as there are multiple films there during Dasara. Leading man Shivarajkumar, director MG Srinivas, producer Sandesh Nagaraj and KGF fame Archana Jois, who has a pivotal role in the film are currently on the Mumbai leg of promotions, where Pen Studios is leading the distribution.

Once back, they will have a pre-release event in Ballari, followed by quick trips to Kochi and Chennai before the film hits theatres. In Karnataka, the film is being distributed by Jayanna Films, who has closed deals with about 300+ screens of which over 220 are single-screens. “We are targeting around 350 screens, which will happen, once multiplexes fix their screen and show allocation. We’ve got some of the best single screens for Ghost,” says Jayanna, who is also distributing Ravi Teja’s Tiger Nageswara Rao in Karnataka.

Advance booking for Ghost will open on Sunday, adds Jayanna. But what about the possibility of early morning shows? “As of now, the decision is to not have any and begin at 10-10.30 am on October 19, but there is demand for 6 am shows. We are currently looking at the feasibility of the same, because unlike a big Telugu or Tamil film, for which Bengaluru is the main centre and the logistics of early morning shows are easier to handle, for a big Kannada movie like Ghost, we will have to do it all over the state and that can become difficult to keep track off. We are not ruling out the possibility, but doing it is going to be tough. By Monday, we should have clarity on this,” he adds.
