In a recent interview, the filmmaker talked about all the talk around Ghajini 2, a film that has been in the works since producer Allu Aravind said he wanted to continue the franchise.
The 2008 Hindi remake of the 2005 Tamil film Ghajini, which starred Suriya, was the first Bollywood film to earn more than 100 crores at the box office, and it was a major success. Speculation has it that Ghajini 2 will be filmed in two languages at the same time—Tamil and Hindi—and will include Suriya and Aamir Khan's return to their respective roles.

They just met, and the filmmaker revealed the specifics by saying that when he came to Mumbai first, he met Aamir before she started the shoot of Sikandar. During their time together on the set of Sitaare Zameen Par, they had a conversation. Following that, they frequently communicated via phone.
This new information, suggesting that Aamir and Murugadoss have been in communication, has stoked speculation about a potential sequel. Nonetheless, the filmmaker withheld details of their conversation. The statements of Murugadoss provide a ray of optimism that the legendary Ghajini film series, helmed by him and featuring Aamir Khan and Suriya, may soon make a triumphant return to theatres.
Ghajini is being re-released along with several other Aamir Khan films in a tribute to his impact on Indian cinema, which is sure to bring back fond memories. Now the re-release trend has started, Murugadoss said in response to a question regarding this tendency. Releases of classic blockbusters typically coincide with the hero's birthday or a holiday.
Ghajini 2 is still a mystery, but Murugadoss is busy preparing for the March 30, 2025, release of Sikandar, his first film with Salman Khan. The action-packed teaser and songs have already created buzz for the film, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna.
