Unni Mukundan, the popular Malayalam actor, is teaming up with director Vinay Govind for his next outing, Get Set Baby. The movie, which is touted to be a dramedy, features Guruvayoorambala Nadayil actress Nikhila Vimal, as the female lead. The makers of the upcoming project revealed the Get Set Baby first-look poster on social media, on the special occasion of World Doctor’s Day.

The much-awaited Get Set Baby first look poster was officially revealed by superstar Mohanlal and other popular celebrities of the Malayalam film industry on social media today (July 1, 2024). “Presenting the first look poster for #GetSetBaby! A @vinay_govind movie,” wrote Unni Mukundan, the leading man who shared the first look on his official handles. From the promising first-look poster, it is safe to assume that Get Set Baby is going to be a breezy entertainer, which deals with the concept of parenthood.
Unni Mukundan and Nikhila Vimal, the lead pair, are seen posing for a selfie with an adorable Beagle puppy, in the poster. Notably, the Get Set Baby first-look poster is designed in the form of a puzzle with some missing pieces, hinting at the couple’s unfulfilled dream of having a child. The poster also hints that the movie could possibly be based on the lives of childless couples, in the backdrop of a city.

The dramedy film marks Vinay Govind’s comeback to filmmaking, after a long gap of over 9 years. The director’s last outing Kohinoor, the heist comedy that stars Asif Ali and Indrajith Sukumaran in the lead roles, was released in 2015. Get Set Baby, which marks Vinay’s first collaboration with Unni Mukundan, reportedly features the actor in the role of an IVF specialist. The movie is penned by YV Rajesh and Anoop Ravindran.
Along with Unni Mukundan and Nikhila Vimal, the movie features Chemban Vinod Jose, Surabhi Lakshmi, Johny Antony, Sudheesh, Shyam Mohan, Dinesh Prabhakar, Meera Vasudevan, Bhagath Manuel, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Jewel Mary, Muthumani, and others in the supporting roles. Sam CS composes the music. Alex J Pulickal and Mahesh Narayanan handle the cinematography and editing, respectively.
