As we had earlier reported, the makers of the film have roped in PhantomFX to do the VFX and CGI works for the film. PhantomFX had previously worked with Sivakarthikeyan-starrer sci-fi comedy Ayalaan for the CGI works. Now, the CGI company has come on board the technical team of the Jayam Ravi-starrer. According to reports, a huge budget has been allocated for the VFX works.
Directed by Arjunan, the upcoming fantasy drama also stars Krithi Shetty, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead. Speculations suggest that Jayam Ravi might romance Krithi Shetty in the movie, who is 23 years junior to him. The film will have Academy Award-winning maestro A R Rahman scoring music. The cinematography for the film is handled by Mahesh Muthuswami, while Pradeep E Ragav is handling the editing. Genie is produced by popular production house Vels films International. The release date of the film is yet to be announced.
