Genelia Deshmukh to star alongside Aamir Khan in Sitaare Zameen Par

Genelia Deshmukh has been roped in to star in Aamir Khan's recently announced movie, Sitaare Zameen Par. Aamir and the Trial Period actress previously worked together on the film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa, which was produced 16 years ago. Mr Perfectionist's nephew Imran Khan, who played her love interest, also starred in the movie as the male lead.

Now, according to the latest reports, Aamir and Genelia will be seen on the same screen. She will reportedly play Aamir's love interest in the film.

According to a source, Genelia was roped in for the role after "ample discussions." An insider informed Pinkvilla that Aamir thinks Genelia is a perfect fit for the role of a powerful, independent lady. After extensive conversations with his director, Aamir signed Genelia to play the female protagonist in the movie. In addition to playing Aamir's love interest, Genelia will go with the main character and help train a group of people with disabilities, the insider informed. 

“Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na was produced by Aamir and this one has him in the lead. Genelia is also very excited to play the part and team up with Aamir for the first time. It’s a perfect casting given the demand of script and character arc,” the source added.

About Sitaare Zameen Par

Both Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh have differently begun to prepare for their roles in the movie. As previously stated by Aamir, Sitaare Zameen Par is billed as a comic entertainer with elements of slice-of-life. The film refers to special children, and the actor is attempting to create a universe similar to Taare Zameen Par, but with many funny elements that spontaneously appear in the script.
