Gehraiyaan: Ananya Pandey reveals she relates to her character in the Deepika Padukone starrer

Gehraiyaan has been the topic of discussion and the most anticipated project of the season. Actors including Deepika Padukone, Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Dhairya Karwa are all in the headlines at the moment, as they have a lot to talk about the special movie and the special characters they essay.

In a recent chat with Hindustan Times, Ananya Panday opened up about how she related to the character and the subject that is portrayed. As the makers have already revealed, Gehraiyaan talks about the complexity of modern-day relationships. The trailer had also made it clear that Ananya’s Tia goes through the toughest phase in her relationship, as her partner cheats her with her cousin.

Though the actor has not portrayed something like this before, she said she felt what her character would have felt. She further revealed that she herself has had feelings of betrayal, heartbreak and felt cheated, even though the context differs. So, she seems to have delved deep into her own emotions to bring out Tia’s expressions and reactions on the screen.

When asked about the pressure and freedom of taking such a complex subject as a young actor, she said the thought was complex as well. She had internal pressure from herself to be a part of the film, but at the same time, she did not want to mess up the character. As a result, she worked hard on the character, until she could satisfy herself and do justice to Tia. “It started from a place of fear and pressure but I later realised the freedom I got from this process”, Ananya said.
