Geethanjali Malli Vachindi is the sequel to the hit 2014 film Geethanjali. The horror comedy has been directed by Shiva Turlapati and hit the screens on April 11, 2024. Kona Venkat, the popular writer, penned the story and produced the film featuring Anjali in the lead role.

Though the makers tried hard to keep the film in the news, it failed at the box office. We, at OTTplay, have already reported that Aha has bagged the digital rights to the film, and Geethanjali Malli Vachindi will stream from May 8, 2024. Well, the news is that Geethanjali Malli Vachindi is now streaming on Aha.

There is a decent buzz for the OTT release of the film, as many missed the Anjali-starrer on the big screen. Geethanjali was a smash hit and had a crazy horror comedy featuring Satyam Rajesh, Srinivasa Reddy, and Shakalaka Shankar. The same comedy was expected from the trio in Geethanjali Malli Vachindi as well but the stale narration took the film down in no time.

As there is a buzz for sequels, Geethanjali Malli Vachindi might get some traction on Aha. It was made on a budget of Rs 6 crore and only made Rs 3 crore in its full theatrical run. Anjali played the female lead, and she had high hopes of making a comeback with this film. But sadly, Geethanjali Malli Vachindi did not give her any respite at the box office.
Kona Venkat had a deal with Aha and decided to release the film on OTT less than a month after its theatrical release. Aha paid him extra bucks for the early OTT release. With this deal, Kona Venkat landed in a safe zone as he sold the post-theatrical rights for a decent price.
Aha has been churning out some very interesting projects, and their latest film, Premalu, is still trending on top with more than 125 million streaming minutes. We need to see how Geethanjali Malli Vachindi will perform on OTT. Watch this space for more updates on this film.
