The trailer launch event of Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu which was held yesterday in Chennai had Kamal Haasan as its chief guest. The Ulaganayagan was all praise for the team and wished success for the Silambarasan-starrer which has been directed by Gautham Menon.
There were speculations that he might talk about the status of much-expected Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu 2 which will have Gautham at its helm. He revealed that the filmmaker had spoken to him about the project a while ago and that he is waiting for him to come up with the completed script.
Gautham was quick to inform him that popular writer Jeyamohan, who has also worked for Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, is busy penning the screenplay for the sequel, and that he will be ready with the final draft soon. Needless to say, fans of Kamal are kicked about this revelation.
Kamal, who is expected to join Shankar's Indian 2 soon, will team up with Mahesh Narayanan, after which he might collaborate with Pa Ranjith or Vetri Maaran, depending on the availability of a bound script from them. The sequel of Lokesh Kanagaraj's Vikram, too, is in the offing, and the star's fans are on a roll.
At the trailer launch of the Silambarasan-starrer, producer Ishari K Ganesh said he would be happy if Kamal could bag the distribution rights of the movie in Kerala, Karnataka and Telugu states. Kamal said that he has no qualms about it and invited Ishari to his office to talk about the business.
Jiiva, Yuvan Shankar Raja and Raashi Khanna among others were present at the event to grace the occasion. AR Rahman was the show stealer at the event as he crooned a few popular songs of his much to the delight of music lovers.
