It looks like Gautham Karthik has wrapped up dubbing for his portions in his upcoming film Pathu Thala. The actor dropped pictures from his dubbing session on social media and captioned them, "Finished dubbing my portions for #PathuThala @SilambarasanTR_ @nameis_krishna @StudioGreen2 @DoneChannel1(sic)." The film has Gautham Karthik teaming up with Silambarasan TR for the first time onscreen. Priya Bhavani Shankar plays the leading lady. Silambarasan had earlier revealed that he had dubbed for his portions as well and had shared a picture from the recording studio.
Pathu Thala is a remake of the Kannada film Mufti, which starred Shiva Rajkumar, Srimurali and Shanvi Srivasatava in the lead. The film marked the debut of director Narthan and the plot revolved around an underworld gangster and a police officer. The neo noir crime thriller went on to become one of the biggest hits at the box office and emerged as one of the highest grossers in Shiva Rajkumar's career.
The shoot for the Tamil version directed by Obeli N Krishna was recently wrapped after delay as Silambarasan TR had flown down to the US to handle the medical treatment of his father, actor, producer and director T Rajenderr. As soon as the actor returned to India, he got busy with the promotions. Pathu Thala also marks the reunion of Isai Puyal AR Rahman with Obeli N Krishna after a hiatus of over 15 years. The last time they had worked together was in Sillunu oru Kadhal (2006), which starred Suriya and Jyotika in the lead.
Gautham Karthik had recently taken a break from his films after his wedding with Devarattam co-star Manjima Mohan. The duo had been dating each for a while now and announced a couple of months ago that they were indeed seeing each other. They tied the knot last month in an elegant ceremony with close family and friends in attendance.
