Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi's recent outing Gatta Kusthi opened to positive reviews from the critics and audience. The sports drama had both the actors playing wrestlers and both of them underwent intense training to prepare for their characters. Aishwarya Lekshmi recently gave a sneak peek into her intense training session for the physical transformation she had to undergo for the character.
Now, her trainer Lakshmi Vishwanath has shared a glimpse of the training session where Aishwarya is seen working out religiously. She wrote on her social media handle, "What the months before Gatta Kusthi shoot looked like! Lots of sweat and tears (from laughing mainly) and a whole lotta fun! So proud of @aishu__ for showing up everyday with @renish_subair and I , even with online training while she was shooting, and taking on the challenge of putting on weight for this character. It’s definitely not easy mentally seeing your body change and intentionally working towards getting bigger but she was a real sport through it and I couldn’t be more proud. Catch Gatta Kusthi in theatres if you haven’t already and see this superstar in action!! #gattakusthi #wrestlingmovie #moviereels
Gatta Kusthi, written and directed by Chella Ayyavu, had Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi coming together for the first time on screen. The duo play a married couple who are passionate about wrestling. The star cast included Karunas, Sreeja Ravi, Munishkanth, Kaali Venkat, Redin Kingsley, Hareesh Peradi, Ajay and Shatru. Music is by Justin Prabhakaran, cinematography by Richard M Nathan and editing by Prasanna GK.
Aishwarya Lekshmi was last seen in Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan: I. She plays the boatwoman, Poonguzhali in the film and her performance was well appreciated by everyone. She will now be seen in the second part of the film. She is currently filming for King of Kotha and Christopher in Malayalam.
