We had previously reported that actors Soori, M Sasikumar and Unni Mukundan, will be starring in the upcoming Tamil film Garudan. The makers released the trailer of the film at the trailer and audio launch event that took place in Chennai on Tuesday. The film is set to hit big screens on May 31.

The trailer of Garudan, starring Soori, M Sasikumar and Unni Mukundan, is out. It begins with a voiceover that says that when one takes a wrong route to achieve something, god or nature, will correct the path since it hovers above us like an eagle. We are then introduced to two friends, played by Sasikumar and Unni Mukundan, who are together in thick and thin. Soori is shown to be Unni Mukundan's loyalist. Soon the trailer takes a dramatic turn when problem ensues and the friends are attacked by enemies. This is when the loyalist steps in and what happens rest is the story.

Garudan also stars actors Revathi Sharma, Sshivada, Roshini Haripriyan, Samuthirakani, Mime Gopi, R.V. Udayakumar, Vadivukkarasi, Dushyanth, Rajendran and Brigida, among others. The film is directed by R.S.Durai Senthilkumar, who has made films like Kodi, Ethir Neechal and Kaaki Sattai. He has also worked as a writer with Vetrimaaran in Viduthalai.

Garudan will have music scored by composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. Written and directed by R.S. Durai Senthilkumar, the technical crew consists of cinematographer Arthur A Wilson. Isc and editor Pradeep E Ragav. G. Durairaj has handled the art direction. Garudan is set to hit theatres on May 31. The film marks the return of Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan to Tamil cinema after Seedan and Bhaagamathie.

Garudan is set to show the acting prowess of Soori, who lately has shifted gears from comedy to more serious roles. The actor’s performance in Viduthalai- Part 1 as a rookie cop won him applause.
