Garudan 2024: Release date, plot, trailer, cast, crew, censor and more

Garudan is an upcoming Tamil film, starring actors Soori, Sasikumar, and Unni Mukundan in the lead roles. The film marks Soori’s second outing as a lead actor after playing a rookie cop in Viduthalai- Part 1. Touted to be an action drama, here are some more details of Garudan that you might want to know before catching the film in theatres this week.

Release date

Garudan is all set to release in big screens on May 31. The film, in all likelihood, will enjoy a solo Tamil release, as there are no other big films scheduled to release. Garudan will mark Soori’s first release this year, and second outing as a lead actor after the 2023 Viduthalai - Part 1.

Plot

The plot of Garudan revolves around how innocents get trampled and affected by the rich. Soori plays the role of Sokkan, an ardent loyalist to his master played by Unni Mukundan. When a minister aims to grab a land belonging to a temple, the conflict in Garudan starts setting an action drama.

Trailer

The trailer of Garudan was released by the makers recently. It begins with a voiceover saying that when one takes to the wrong path to attain something, god or nature, will correct the path since it hovers above us like an eagle. Sasikumar and Unni Mukundan play two friends who are together in thick and thin, while Soori is shown to be a loyalist to Unni Mukundan. Soon the trailer takes a dramatic turn when problem ensues and the friends are attacked by enemies. This is when the loyalist steps in and what happens rest is the story.

Cast and Crew

Garudan stars Soori, Sasikumar, and Unni Mukundan in the lead roles. Apart from them, the film also features a cast comprising of Revathi Sharma, Sshivada, Roshini Haripriyan, Samuthirakani, Mime Gopi, R.V. Udayakumar, Vadivukkarasi, Dushyanth, Rajendran and Brigida, among others. The film is directed by R.S.Durai Senthilkumar, who has made films like Kodi, Ethir Neechal and Kaaki Sattai. He has also worked as a writer with Vetrimaaran in Viduthalai. The technical crew consists of cinematographer Arthur A Wilson. Isc and editor Pradeep E Ragav. G. Durairaj has handled the art direction and Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music.

Censor and runtime

Garudan has a runtime of two hours and 14 minutes. The film has been censored with a U/A certificate by the censor board.
