Garmi teaser: Tigmanshu Dhulia's directorial series is a powerful tale of student politics

The teaser of the upcoming web series titled Garmi released on Thursday. It is created and directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. 

The story of the web series revolves around a young college student named Arvind Shukla who comes from a small town to a big city for his higher study with a lot of fire in his belly. The series progresses to show how gradually he gets into the whole game of politics inside and outside of college. Even though he comes to the city with the aspiration of becoming a civil servant, he finds himself between powerplay and crime. 

This is not the first time when the creator of the show Tigmanshu explored the genre of socio-political drama and the story of gang wars set in the Hindi heartland. In the past, he not only directed and produced films in that genre but also acted in a few of them. 

We have seen Tigmanshu acting in films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Shahid and Rangbaaz. He had directed some of the much-celebrated award-winning films like Haasil, Paan Singh Tomar, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and Raag Desh among many others. 

It is interesting to notice that the protagonist of the web series Arvind is played by the young actor Vyom Yadav. The audience has seen the actor in the past in films like Badhaai Do. He also worked in Delhi Crime. 

Tigmanshu is known for extracting the best performance from his actors in every film and shows that he has directed so far. Thus, it will be interesting to watch how he brings out the best in Vyom and if he can deliver the expectation the audience has from the show, as a lead actor. 

The web series Garmi is produced by Swaroop Sampat and Hemal Ashok Thakkar. The show features an ensemble star cast such as Mukesh Tiwari, Vineet Kumar, Pankaj Saraswat, Jatin Goswami, Vyom Yadav, Puneet Singh, Anurag Thakur, Anushka Kaushik, Disha Thakur and Dheerendra Gautam in pivotal roles. 

The show will be released on SonyLIV in the month of April. The makers are yet to reveal the release date for the same.
