Not too long ago, it seemed that November would be a rather dry month as far as Kannada film releases go, but then, slowly, one by one, filmmakers began announcing theatrical arrivals. While Yogaraj Bhat had fixed a Deepavali outing for his next, Rakshit Shetty’s Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B had two earlier attempts at making it to theatres before settling for a post-festival release. Raj B Shetty’s much-delayed Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye is headed to theatres, as also yet another Darling Krishna-led romantic drama.

Garadi
Actor Yashas Surya makes the transition from character artiste to lead hero with director Yogaraj Bhat’s next, Garadi. Set in North Karnataka, the film produced by BC Patil is centred on the traditional wrestling gymnasium’s in that part of the state. Challenging Star Darshan will be seen in a pivotal role in the film, while Sonal Monteiro is the female lead. Censored U/A, the film will be in theatres for Deepavali and will be in direct competition with Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 on November 10.
Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B
The second instalment of actor-producer Rakshit Shetty’s film with director Hemanth M Rao, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B will be in theatres on November 17. Initially announced as an October 20 release, which was, at first, pushed ahead by a week to October 27 and then November 17, the film has Rakshit as Manu, a driver for a rich businessman, who agrees to take the blame of a hit-and-run committed by the latter’s son, in exchange for a tidy sum. However, when the businessman dies before living up to his promise of ‘taking care’ of Manu’s legal affairs, everything goes topsy turvy for him, including his relationship with the love of his life, Priya. Side B takes off 10 years after the events of the first film and explores Manu’s life after his jail sentence.
Bad Manners
There is a certain level of excitement and expectation surrounding director Duniya Suri’s films and his next, Bad Manners, has been in the news as the relaunch vehicle of Junior Rebel Star Abishek Ambareesh. Not much is known about the film, other than the fact that Abishek is playing a cop. He is paired with Rachita Ram, while newbie Priyanka Kumar has a pivotal role. The film, which has music by Suri’s regular collaborator Charan Raj, is releasing in theatres on November 24.
Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye
This was actor-filmmaker Raj B Shetty’s third directorial, which he took up after Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana. The film is Kannada actress Ramya’s debut production and was initially meant to be her comeback vehicle as well. However, it was later decided that the role was better suited for a relatively fresh face and then went to Siri Ravikumar. In media interactions during the promotions of the film he did thereafter, Toby, Raj had said that Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye was made as a small film meant for OTT viewing. But the team was unable to swing a streaming deal, with Ramya stating that mainstream platforms do not invest in Kannada content. The film is now getting a theatrical release instead on November 24.
Sugar Factory
Also releasing on November 24 is Darling Krishna’s romantic drama Sugar Factory, directed by Deepak Aras. Krishna plays a wedding planner with an aversion to relationships, who meets Sonal Monteiro at a pub and after a night of drunken revelry, declare they are a couple, only to then find out that they do not even know each other’s names. The film also stars Rangayana Raghu, Shilpa Shetty and Advithi Shetty, among others.
