Seema Pahwa has become one of the known faces in some of the recent comedy-drama films and has gathered a fan base from her comic roles. While now the actress is gearing up to be seen in an intense avatar with a serious tone in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi, which stars Alia Bhatt. The actress has recently mentioned after playing a lot of funny roles, she would like to essay more serious characters in the films now.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Seema told the portal that Alia is one of the most caring people and the most talented actress. The actress added that Bhansali has a very different approach to filmmaking.

Talking about her character, the actress mentioned to HT that her role is completely different from what she has been doing till now. Talking about her experience of working with Alia, the Ankhon Dekhi actress said that she was really friendly and very caring about everyone. "I think she is one of the best actors in India at present and can even beat some of the biggest actors despite being so young," she added.

Seema is a movie director herself. She made her directorial debut with the film Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi that ensembles a huge set cast including her own husband & actor Manoj Pahwa along with Naseeruddin Shah, Supriya Pathak, Konkona Sen Sharma, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Vikrant Massey among others. The actress has recently been seen in a lot of notable films including the Ayushmann Khurrana-Bhumi Pednekar starrer Bala, Chintu Ka Birthday, Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari that has Manoj Bajpayee in the lead role, and the recently released film Badhaai Do that stars Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi.

Gangubai Kathiwadi, which also features Ajay Devgn, Vijay Raaz, Shantanu Maheshwari, is set to release on big screens on February 25.
