Darshana Rajendran wins OTTplay award under the ‘Best Actor in a Negative Role’ category for Purusha Pretham

Darshana Rajendran, who starred in Krishand’s Purusha Pretham, won the OTTplay award under the ‘Best Actor in a Negative Role’ category for her stellar performance in the police procedural.

Speaking about Purusha Pretham, which got her her first award in a negative role, Darshana said that the movie was considered ‘a very small film’ by Krishand, which he was very hesitant to offer to the actress, as the character was nothing like someone playing a lead role would do. The director even thought that the Hridayam actress might reject it. But it turned out, the actress was keen on doing the role. “When he thought I was going to reject it, I jumped right in and said yes to do the film. It was an experience like none other. It got me my first award in a negative role”, Darshana elaborated.
