Gangnam B-Side episodes 3 and 4 review: BIBI overshadows Ji Chang-wook too

Even in her small role, BIBI is someone you'd want to watch out for in Gangnam B-Side episodes 3 and 4

Story:

Yong-pil (Ji Chang-wook) had fled from the police to search for Jennie (BIBI). But, there are surprises waiting for all, since a death changes the whole narrative.

Review:

A murder was committed while Gil-ho (Ji Chang-wook) ran away. The focus, obviously, shifts to the latter. Jo Woo-jin as Dong-woo and Ha Yoon-kyung as Seo-jjn are the first to be back, and they are very much in their element.

Jung Ga-ram's No Jun-seo, obviously, is back, and he's exactly how you saw him in the previous episodes. You just tend to hate him for who he is.

BIBI is back as Jennie, and she is a force to reckon with. Yong-pil's almost-reunion with Jennie is one that will haunt you.

Chang-wook's return is nothing like an antagonist, but from what we have already seen of him, he sure has a plan. This side of him, too, is not disappointing, especially when he meets Dong-woo after fleeing.

What you expected of Kim Do-hyun's Ju Yun the last time around unfolds in the recent episodes. Meanwhile, Hyun Bong-sik's Jang-ho brings in a good change.

What Gil-ho wants, Gil-ho gets. The proof is in when he chases Jun-seo down despite the situations being against him.

The tables have turned since Im Sung-jae's Payche finally takes control. However, of course, the confrontation scene between Yong-pil and Dong-woo takes the cake. Chang-wook's intense stare in a low red-light sure does the trick.

The pace of the story works well this time around, but the best part is how it all unfolds. With this episode, you finally know that Yong-pil is not the real villain but will gladly become one to protect the family.

The story takes a shocking turn when an important character is found dead. A suspenseful ending makes this one a good watch, even though it could be greater.

Verdict:

Gangnam B-Side episodes 3 and 4 are almost on the same wavelength as episodes 1 and 2. In fact, much has toned down in the latest episodes. Ji Chang-wook, who appeared villainous so far, is now somewhere between a hero and a villain. Similarly, Jo Woo-jin has calmed down in comparison. BIBI, on the other hand, is still a force to look forward to. Things get clearer with these episodes, so that's a good thing. Watch this to follow the story, and the deep mystery it hides.
