When Leo was announced, fans of Vijay anticipated it to be the biggest project in the star's career and hoped that it could make a good collection from the Hindi market. The producer of the movie Lalit Kumar announced a few months ago that they are planning aggressive promotion in several states in North India.

However, the team didn't put any effort into attracting the audience there, leaving fans dejected. The much-hyped audio launch of the project, too, was canceled at the last minute.

Ganapath's poor reviews leave Vijay fans lamenting over the missed opportunity

Tiger Shroff's Ganapath was the only Bollywood movie that was announced for the Dussehra festival. Cinephiles thought that Leo could make a decent collection from the Bollywood market if its Hindi version was promoted well there. However, the makers were in for a shock after the leading multiplex chains announced their non-cooperation as the film had a four-week OTT window.

Ganapath has now opened to poor reviews from moviegoers and fans feel that Leo's makers missed a huge opportunity in the Hindi market. The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial made more than 3 crores on its first day and the second day collection, too, is said to be decent, considering the smaller number of theatres in which it has been released.

Leo takes South India by storm

The collection of Leo in Karnataka, Kerala and Telugu states has exceeded expectations. The movie is currently the number one Tamil film in Kerala and Karnataka in terms of first day gross collection.

The expected figures for the next few days look encouraging, thanks to the holidays and the decent reviews the action drama has garnered. The reference to the last two films of Lokesh is another factor that is attracting the audience to theatres.
