Among HBO's Game of Thrones spin-offs are House of the Dragon, 10,000 Ships (based on Princess Nymeria of House Martell), 9 Voyages (which will star Steve Toussaint as his House of the Dragon character Corlys Velaryon) and an adaptation of Martin's novella Tales of Dunk and Egg.

David Benioff and DB Weiss created a cultural phenomenon with Game of Thrones, a series adaptation of George RR Martin's books, but they have no plans to return for any spin-offs that are in the pipeline at the network.

Weiss recently told Entertainment Weekly that after 11 years of Game of Thrones, he believed it was "time to move on."

"All in, we were 11 years, probably, doing that show. When I say 11 years, it was full on, all in, all day, every day for 11 years. It was the best decade of our lives. It still kind of feels a bit like a dream, but we got to a place where it was pretty clear to us that we had reached the end of what made sense for us to be involved with in that world that we lived. It just felt like, for us, it was time to move on and get excited and terrified about building something else — building lots of something elses," he said.

Weiss added that he and Benioff did not have any desire to be involved with any more Game of Thrones-related shows "given where we were just as people at the time we were done with the original."

Since the conclusion of the series, Benioff and Weiss have signed a nine-project deal with Netflix, with the first being Sandra Oh's academia drama The Chair. The next in line is Metal Lords, written by Weiss and set to debut on April 8. Another project in production is the sci-fi series The Three-Body Problem.
