Game Changer Telugu pre-release business: Here's how much it needs to break even

Game Changer is one of the biggest films set to release in 2025, hitting theaters on January 10. The film has generated massive buzz ever since the trailer was unveiled recently. While the teaser didn’t impress fans much, director Shankar delivered a powerful punch with the trailer, leaving audiences thrilled and eager to watch the film on the big screen.

Produced by Dil Raju, the film’s rights have been sold at a lucrative price. To break even, Game Changer needs to earn at least Rs 127 crore in the Telugu states. This target is considered reasonable, and if the film garners positive reviews, reaching the Rs 125 crore mark should be achievable. The pricing was kept moderate, partly because Shankar's last film, Indian 2, underperformed at the box office.

Game Changer pre-release business for Telugu states

In the Telangana region, Game Changer must earn at least Rs 40 crore to break even. The film's prolonged three-year production led to lukewarm interest in trade circles, but the trailer's success has reignited excitement, boosting business. Dil Raju, cautious about potential risks, has opted to release the film himself in Telangana.

The Ceded region rights were sold for Rs 24 crore, while Guntur rights fetched Rs 11 crore in pre-release deals. Ram Charan stars in a double role, portraying both a father and son. Kiara Advani plays the female lead, with Anjali in a significant role. SJ Suryah is cast as the main antagonist, and Thaman has composed the music.

Bookings for the film have already begun in the US, crossing $1 million in pre-sales. A pre-release event will take place in Rajahmundry on January 4, 2025. Pawan Kalyan will attend as the chief guest, and megastar Chiranjeevi is also expected to participate, though his attendance is yet to be confirmed.

Overall, Game Changer—once plagued by low buzz and criticism over its ordinary music—has now turned the tide, becoming one of the most highly anticipated releases. It will be interesting to see how the film performs throughout its theatrical run. Stay tuned for more updates.
