Game Changer Advance Booking: The world has been busy tracking the box office game that Pushpa 2: The Rule has unleashed as it now looks at beating Dangal, the all-time highest Indian grosser. But while the Allu Arjun starrer has seen a 65% dip on Monday, it now faces competition from the south itself with a Shankar directorial. Yes, we are talking about the maestro’s next movie, Game Changer, starring RRR power machine Ram Charan and Bollywood beauty Kiara Advani in the leading roles. The movie is one of the most anticipated in the country and is up for release on January 10, 2025. The advance booking report is a very good start.

Game Changer Advance Bookings

While it is being said Game Changer has recovered a major chunk of its investment even before release, its advance bookings for the Ram Charan and Kiara Advani movie look pretty impressive. As per Sacnilk, it has been around ₹50 lakh (gross) in India as of January 7. With three more days left until the release of the movie, it is safe to say the movie will only grow for a good opening. The future depends on the content and how well word of mouth works for the project. Add to it, Pushpa 2’s speed has slowed, with the movie now entering a minimal collection phase after being a wildfire for a month.

Talking of advance booking overseas, Game Changer is witnessing a very strong buzz in North America too. Reports state the movie has registered an advance booking sales of $575K for the U.S. premieres. Over 20K tickets have been sold so far from 1,409 shows across 468 locations in the U.S. Even these numbers are expected to grow considerably over the next three days.

The Telangana Tug of War

In India, the Andhra Pradesh government has already approved a hike in ticket prices for Game Changer and granted the required permissions for its benefit shows. Meanwhile, the Telangana government has yet to announce its decision on raising ticket prices for the Shankar directorial and allowing benefit shows. Producer Dil Raju has requested the Telangana government, but no decision has been made yet.

This follows the Telangana Chief Minister’s recent announcement that he will not allow benefit shows for films in the state or ticket price hikes. This decision came after the Pushpa 2: The Rule early show stampede at Sandhya Theatre. Whether the CM agrees to Dil Raju’s request remains to be seen, but if he does, it may contradict his previous claims.

Game Changer hits the big screen on January 10, 2025. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more updates on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
