Anand Deverakonda is gearing up for the sixth release in his career - Gam Gam Ganesha - this year. The film is an action comedy marking the directorial debut of Uday Bommisetty. Pragati Srivastava, Nayan Sarika play the female leads in the crime camper backed by HyLife Entertainments. At its teaser launch, the actor also confirmed that he’ll be reuniting with Vinod Anantoju for a new project.
For the unversed, Anand and director Vinod Anantoju had earlier worked for the direct-to-OTT release Middle Class Melodies, which landed directly on Amazon Prime Video. The tale of a small-time hotel owner trying to make a mark in life received a lot of love upon its digital release. Varsha Bollamma played the female lead in the film that also starred Chaitanya Garikapati, Goparaju Ramana.
While talking about Gam Gam Ganesha, Anand Deverakonda said, “I am working with a bunch of newcomers. I am the most experienced person in the team. I am not comfortable on stage and an introvert. It has been exactly two months since Baby released. If Baby was an emotional ride, Gam Gam Ganesha is a laugh riot. It’s a gripping, fun, crime, action film. I really enjoyed listening to the script during the narration and laughed for two hours.”
The actor hoped audiences would enjoy the film in theatres. He had shot for Baby and Gam Gam Ganesha simultaneously. “Filmmaking requires a lot of patience; you experience a flurry of emotions, highs and lows and I’m glad that (director) Uday could preserve his vision all along. I have worked with four first-time directors. I hope Uday tastes success.”
He called the composer Chaitan Bharadwaj a super-strong pillar for Gam Gam Ganesha and opined the songs are mindblowing. There’s a melody, a dance number, a rap track and the album has so many variations, he added. There’s immense scope for background score in Gam Gam Ganesha and Anand revealed he has high expectations from Chaitan.
The Dorasani actor also paid a tribute to his Baby character as an auto driver with the teaser. He’s credit with a quote, also to signify that the film is full of grey characters. This is a film about fear, greed and crime; it’ll have a racy, gripping screenplay, Anand assured crowds. “It was amazing to work with Jabardasth Emmanuel, he’s a great friend now.”
