After etching her name in pop culture as the face of Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot seems to be making a move to diversify her kitty. The popular actor is in talks to join the cast of Disney’s live-action Snow White film as the evil queen.

According to reports in Deadline, Gadot is in the final stages of negotiations for the role. The upcoming film will be directed by Marc Webb popular for helming films such as 500 Days of Summer and The Amazing Spider-Man.

Gadot will share the screen with Rachel Zegler, who was confirmed to play the titular character in the film earlier. Zegler will also be seen in the upcoming Steven Spielberg directorial West Side Story, in her feature film debut.

1937’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs had become Disney’s first animated feature film, long before the studio had enjoyed the dominant position it does today in the industry.

Based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale of 1812, the film tells the story of a young princess who becomes the target of her evil stepmother’s jealousy because of her beauty. Managing to escape an attempt on her life, the princess finds refuge in the home of seven dwarves. Unbeknownst to her, the evil queen plots a second attempt to finally be rid of Snow White’s presence once and for all.

Snow White joins the growing list of Disney classics to get live-action adaptations. At present the studios is developing adaptations of films such as The Little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch, Peter Pan and Wendy, and Pinocchio.

Meanwhile, Gadot will next be seen in the action-comedy Red Notice, with Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson. She will also be a part of Cleopatra and Netflix’s Heart of Stone.

Snow White will begin production next year.
