Gadar 2: Sunny Deol REPLIES to the criticism that the film was being termed as an anti-Pakistan

Ever since the release of the Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer ‘Gadar 2’, there is not even a single day when the media and social media has stopped talking or discussing about the film. In other words, the film has been making news for many reasons. Amongst the many news about the film and it creating a hailstorm at the box-office, we had recently reported about an allegation that was levied by ‘Gadar’s music composer Uttam Singh on the makers of ‘Gadar 2’ for not having the basic decency and etiquette to speak to him at least once before using his tracks in the film. As a reply to this accusation, the film’s maker Anil Sharma rubbished all the allegations and accusations against the film’s makers as they had already met Uttam Singh and showed the films’ music.

Amidst all this, there was an interview on BBC Asian Network in which Sunny Deol was what his opinion was about the criticism that ‘Gadar 2’ was being termed as an ‘anti-Pakistan’ film by certain people. To which, Sunny Deol said that, it was basically a political thing mostly and that whether it was in India or there (Pakistan), everyone was together. He also cited the example of the film ‘Gadar 2’ as, even throughout the film, he never run anybody down, because he didn’t believe in running people down and Tara Singh (his character in Gadar 2) was not that kind of a person (to run anyone down).

Post this, when Sunny Deol was asked about the release timing of ‘Gadar 2’, which was during a 'politically tense climate, he said that everyone wanted peace. He also added that not to take the film so seriously and that cinema was for entertainment. He also added that, there was an exaggeration in cinema because that's how the audiences want the characters to be and if they were not exaggerated, the audiences don't enjoy it.

As for the film ‘Gadar 2’, besides Sunny Deol, it stars Ameesha Patel as the leading lady. Besides them, the film also stars Utkarsh Sharma, Simrat Kaur, Gaurav Chopra and Manish Wadhwa in important roles. While the film has been directed by Anil Sharma, it has managed to surpass the magical Rs. 400 crore mark at the box-office and is eyeing the Rs. 450 crore mark as its next milestone!
