Gadar 2: Director Anil Sharma dishes out details on the script of Sunny Deol starrer sequel

The highly anticipated Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 is all set to go on the floors next month. The sequel film also stars Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma, who’ll be reprising their characters from the first part. The director, Anil Sharma recently revealed that he has been trying to make the sequel to Gaddar for the last 15 years.

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the filmmaker revealed that it took him 15 years to crack the script from the much-awaited sequel and around three years back the thought of making Gadar 2 impressed everyone and ever since then, the makers have been working towards developing the subject. Furthermore, he said that Gadar will remain in the heart of cinema lovers for 100 years and he wants them to remember Gadar 2 as well. “I feel, Gadar 2 will carry forward the legacy of the first part. I have complete faith in this subject and hence, I am not worried now. We invested a lot of time in developing the plot of Gadar,” he added.

He also informed the portal that the story of the epic drama has evolved and has been written by keeping the taste of today’s audience in mind. “It’s about what happened to them after the 1947 partition. Much like the original, even this is in the period set up,” he added.

Talking about the music and tracks of the sequel film, Sharma revealed that a few hits from the original film will be used in the forthcoming movie. The filmmaker also said that the Indian music director, Mithoon, has already composed a song for Gadar 2 that has the potential to create history.

Meanwhile, in 2018 the filmmaker launched Utkarsh as the lead in the action-thriller drama- Genius, which also stars Ayesha Jhulka as the female lead and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Mithun Chakraborty and Malti Chahar in supporting characters.
