Gadar 2: Besides creating box-office history, the Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel starrer adds THIS to its credit

The Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel starrer ‘Gadar 2’ has been creating a storm at the box-office. There seems to be no stopping this film. The eternal love story of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) and Sakina (Ameesha Patel) is simply being loved by one and all. Only a few days back, we had reported that, the hysteria for this film is so massive that, the audiences are even seen coming in tractors to the theatres which are screening ‘Gadar 2’, which happens to be the sequel of ‘Gadar’, which also starred Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel.

Besides setting the box office on fire, ‘Gadar 2’ has now added one more feather in its cap. The film has now become the first Indian film to be released in Monterrey, Mexico. As for the box-office collections of the film, the film is marching quickly towards the magical figure of Rs. 400 crores.

In a recent press conference, when the ‘man of t he moment’ Sunny Deol was asked about the success of the film, he said that they had the conviction about the success of the film and hence, they had decided to go ahead with making the film. He not only added that there was an empty space till 22 years, but also questioned as to why such films were not being made by anyone. He also added that, since the ‘field’ was empty, they came and did their work (of making such a film).

Besides Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, ‘Gadar 2’ also stars Utkarsh Sharma, Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra and Simrat Kaur in important roles. What is remarkable about the film is that, when the first part of ‘Gadar’ was released in the year 2001 (15 June, to be precise), it was released along with Ashutosh Gowariker's ‘Lagaan’. Both the films eventually went onto become blockbusters at the box-office. And even in the case of ‘Gadar 2’, it was released with Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG2’, which is also doing great business at the box-office. Just like ‘Gadar 2’, even the film ‘OMG 2’ too has entered the magical Rs. 100 crores club.
