Furiosa – A Mad Max Saga was released at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on May 15. The movie, featuring Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, was lauded at the prestigious ceremony. Chris, Anya and, more importantly, director George Miller, received a standing ovation after the film was screened at the festival.
Anya held her hand out for George, almost as if to tell everyone to get the spotlight on him. She even bowed down to him to praise his talent. Chris, who was a little further away from them, met George’s gaze, smiled at him and clapped with the crowd for the appreciation coming their way.
Furiosa is at Times Square too. It has taken up the space of about over four posters. This goes on to show the level of craze the movie has among the viewers.
“Chris Hemsworth should be nominated for an Oscar just based on the footage released for #furiosa,” a user commented. Another teases about a mind-blowing truck chase sequence in the movie, thus leaving viewers more excited about what is to come.
Furiosa is set 15-20 years ahead of Mad Max: Fury Road. Furiosa, from the franchise, is now with a Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus (Chris). Two Tyrants get caught up in a war to rule over Citadel and Furiosa finds it her opportunity to head back home to the Green Place of Many Mothers via the Wasteland.
Charlee Fraser is seen in the role of Furiosa’s mother, Mary Jo Bassa. The film also stars Alyla Browne as young Furiosa, Tom Burke as Praetorian Jack, Lachy Hulme as Immortan Joe and Rizzdale Pell, Nathan Jones as Rictus Erectus, Josh Helman as Scrotus, John Howard as The People Eater, Angus Sampson as The Organic Mechanic, and Quaden Bayles and Daniel Webber as War Boys.
