Mrighdeep Singh Lamba's 'Fukrey 3', which was released in theatres only a few weeks ago, is now available to stream on OTT. The comedy caper debuted on Amazon Prime Video earlier today but is available only with the rental option at the moment, with the free version expected to drop shortly on the same platform.
Fukrey 3 can be streamed by Amazon Prime Video subscribers for a price of Rs. 349, giving them a 48-hour window to watch the film.
The third installment of the 'Fukrey' series arrived in theatres on September 28, with the story taking off about a year after the events of Fukrey 2. Bholi Punjaban, played by Richa Chadha, is contesting elections and is almost on the brink of victory but is first compelled to deal with the Fukras as they impose a threat to her now-manufactured image in the public eye. Little does she know that the very trip to South Africa that she sponsored for the Fukras ends up becoming a hurdle in her way as Choocha (Varun Sharma) and Hunny (Pulkit Samrat) return from the trip with a new superpower in hand. Choocha is then pitted against Bholi in the same election, setting off a new series of chaotic and equally amusing events.
The cast of Fukrey 3 also includes Manjot Singh as Lali Halwai, Pankaj Tripathi as Panditji, Manu Rishi Chadha as Shunda Singh Ahluwalia and Amit Dhawan as Dhingra, with Fukrey alum Ali Fazal making a cameo appearance as Zafar Khan.
Fukrey 3 opened to mixed reviews in the theatres, with most critics praising the new set of contrivances in the plot but also pointing out that the latest installment does not carry the same as the previous two. The audience reviews, too, were similar, with most of them opining that Fukrey 3's comedy lacked the same punch that the other two installments carried. Regardless, the film had a decent run at the box office and, according to Wikipedia, has grossed Rs 127 crore worldwide.
