Fukrey 3 gets a new release date: Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Richa Chadha's comedy gets postponed due to Jawan; here's all you need to know

The new premiere date for the upcoming comedy film Fukrey 3 is now November 24, 2023. The film stars Varun Sharma, Pulkit Samrat, Pankaj Tripathi, and Manjot Singh. It was earlier scheduled to release on September 7, 2023, which has now been locked by Jawan and features Shah Rukh Khan in the titular role.

Film critic Taran Adarsh made the announcement on Instagram, writing, "‘FUKREY 3’ MOVES TO NEW DATE... #Fukrey3, which was scheduled for release on the Janmashtami weekend [7 September 2023], will now release on November 24, 2023. Directed by #MrighdeepSinghLamba and produced by #RiteshSidhwani and #FarhanAkhtar. (sic)"

Both Fukrey and its 2017 sequel, Fukrey Returns, were released in 2013. The preceding instalments were critically acclaimed and met with enormous audience enthusiasm. The third film in the successful series will not feature actor Ali Fazal, unlike the previous two.

Ali made a public announcement about his departure from the franchise. He said in a statement that he was unable to star in Fukrey 3 due to production commitments on Mirzapur 3.

The actor said that since I was born a fukra, he will always be one. But he won't be making an appearance along with the Fukras, Bholi, and Panditji's third movie! Ali commented that he wishes he could have been there, but his schedule just didn't allow it.

He also dropped hints about a potential future appearance in the franchise. Ali continued by saying that at some point in the future, perhaps sooner than one expects, he will return after a short diversion to entertain the viewers.

The Fukrey franchise has always been extremely successful, but the second film, Fukrey Returns, was an unprecedented smash at the box office. The franchise's success spawned an animated TV show for kids called Fukrey Boyzzz on the Discovery Kids channel, which featured the same quirky characters from the films.

Since its initial release in 2013, Fukrey has been one of the franchises that the general public has developed. Each subsequent instalment has also been a huge success.
