Arnold Schwarzenegger, it would seem, is in no hurry to hang up his boots. A week ago, he not only made his OTT debut with the action series Fubar on Netflix that saw him play an undercover CIA agent on a mission to save a fellow operative whose cover is about to be blown, but he’s also taken up a swanky title at the streaming platform – Chief Action Officer.
Arnold’s appointment was announced via a fun promo video, with some of his main duties including introducing and promoting the streamer’s upcoming action content slate. Arnold has, of course, jumped right into the thick of it, what with Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction 2 set to drop on the streamer on June 16.
In the first of the promotional videos, Arnold and Chris bump into each other in an elevator at the Netflix HQ. and have a rather awkward conversation about corny punch-lines the latter could use during pivotal action sequences. “I have some ideas for you, like you could hit the guy with a giant clock and say, ‘Your time is up’, or you could punch a guy, knock his teeth out and say, ‘You were overdue for an extraction’. While Chris also throws in a couple of lines before the video wraps, it is clear that the two actors were not together for the shoot.
Arnold, meanwhile, has a busy week ahead, what with a limited docu-series about his life, right from his bodybuilding days, to showbiz, and political career, making it into the narrative. The veteran actor will also discuss how some of this took a toll on his personal life, including with his ex-wife, Maria Shriver and kids. It is not clear if the docu-series will also focus on the fact that Arnold’s relationship with a housekeeper was a reason for the break-down of his marriage.
