Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil turned 41 on August 8 and though it’s only been eight months into the year, the actor was part of some acclaimed films including Akhil Sathyan’s Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum and Maari Selvaraj’s Maamannan in Tamil. Even as the wait for the OTT release of his latest movie Dhoomam continues, there’s plenty to look forward to, if you are a fan of the actor who continues to expand his fanbase across the country.

From romcoms and sequels to motivational films and action-dramas, here's a list of some of the most-anticipated projects of Fahadh in 2023 and 2024.

Aavesham

The film has already created a lot of buzz as it unites Romancham director Jithu Madhavan, Fahadh and Trance filmmaker Anwar Rasheed, who is its co-producer. Touted to be a campus action-comedy, the movie has Fahadh reportedly e ssaying the role of a goon who is hired by a few students to help deal with the bullies. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Fahadh told us it’s a role that he hasn’t played before and he is looking forward to the film’s release in early January.

Fahadh started 2023 with a sweet romcom Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum and will once again delve into the genre with Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela director’s Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira. Fahadh told us that he will be joining the movie in November 2023. Althaf said it’s a full-length romcom that will showcase a side of the brilliant actor that hasn’t been seen often post pandemic.

Pushpa 2: The Rule

The sequel of Allu Arjun and director Sukumar’s blockbuster Pushpa will once again have Fahadh reprise his role as the wily cop Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat IPS as he goes head to head with the titular protagonist. The filmmaker has promised that there will be a lot more of the antagonist in the second instalment, which is expected to hit theatres at the end of this year or early 2024.

Hanuman Gear

Last year’s Malayankunju is probably the closest rooted-to-reality role that Fahadh had done recently in Malayalam. In director Sudheesh Shankar’s Hanuman Gear that is inspired by true events, the actor will be playing an off-road enthusiast. The director told OTTplay that the film is set in the high ranges and revolves around a point in the protagonist’s life when is faced with challenges that he has to overcome and how this brings about a profound change in his life. The makers are yet to announce when the movie will go on floors.

Untitled Lokesh Kanagaraj movie

With director Lokesh gearing up for the release of his Vijay-starrer Leo, it’s also expected that the actor will begin work on his next film in the franchise and this could have Fahadh reprising his role as Agent Amar from Vikram. Fahadh, during the promotion of Thankam earlier this year, had hinted that there were talks of him doing another film with Lokesh and if all plans fall in place, it could very well be his next entry in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe.

Untitled TJ Gnanavel movie with Rajinikanth

The Jai Bhim director’s next has Rajinikanth in the lead and it will make for some massive goosebumps moment if the film were to also see Fahadh go up or team up with the Thalaivar in any capacity, especially after his performance in Maamannan was celebrated by the Tamil audience. There are strong rumours that the actor would be collaborating with the filmmaker for the movie; this, especially, because the previous filmmakers he has worked with in Tamil including Maari Selvaraj, Lokesh Kanagaraj, Thiagarajan Kumararaja and Mohan Raja.
