From Polladhavan to Captain Miller, Dhanush action films to watch

Dhanush’s Raayan is set to premiere on Prime Video on August 23. A gangster action drama, Raayan is directed by Dhanush who also starred in the lead role. The actor is no new face to the action genre, and has headlined various action films which have gone to be iconic. Here are some of them that you can stream on OTTplay Premium.

Maryan

Maryan is an action-drama film directed by Bharat Bala. The film stars Dhanush and Parvathy Thiruvothu in the lead roles, with music by AR Rahman. The film revolves around a fisherman and his emotional journey to an unknown place and come home to lead a better life.

Pudhupettai – Aha

Pudhupettai is a crime action film starring Dhanush in the lead role. The film is directed by his brother and filmmaker Selvaraghavan. Pudhupettai is about a young man who comes from a low-income settlement and rises to become a dreaded gangster. With music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the film also stars Sonia Agarwal, Sneha, Azhagam Perumal and others.

Captain Miller – SunNXT

Captain Miller is a period action drama, written and directed by Arun Matheswaran. Set against the backdrop of 1930s, the film explores the life of a former British soldier who tries to save his village from the oppressors. The film also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan, Priyanka Mohan, Aditi Balan, Edward Sonnenblick and John Kokken among others.

Polladhavan – SunNXT

Polladhavan is an action thriller film written and directed by Vetrimaaran in his directorial debut. The film stars Dhanush in the lead role along with Ramya, Karunas, Daniel Balaji, Kishore and others. The film revolves around a man whose bike gets stolen, changing his life upside down. The after effects of the resulted in skyrocketing the fame of Bajaj Pulsar bikes among the youth.

Sulaan – SunNXT

Sulaan is a 2004 action film, written and directed by Ramana. The film was one of the earliest projects in Dhanush's career, which showed him as an angry young man. Also starring Sindhu Tolani, Manivannan, Pasupathy and Easwari Rao among others, the film revolves around the titular character who is son of a corporation garbage lorry driver, who goes up against a cruel moneylender.
