From MS Dhoni to Chhichhore, celebrate Sushant Singh Rajput’s career with his best films

It’s been a year since Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise. The talented actor, who had proved his versatility in roles in movies such as MS Dhoni: The Untold Story and Kedarnath, had so much to offer and his final film, Dil Bechara, that released after his death was a testament of sorts to that.

As thousands pay tribute to the actor on his death anniversary today, we have curated a must-watch list to celebrate the brief but shining career of the passionate actor.

MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (Disney+ Hotstar)

The sports biopic was one of the biggest hits and a major breakthrough film of SSR’s career. Based on the life of former Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni, the movie also features Kiara Advani and Disha Patani.

Kai Po Che (Netflix)

An adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s book The Three Mistakes of My Life, Kai Po Che tells the story of three friends, who start a cricket academy for aspiring children. The film also showcases the incidents related to communal riots and a major earthquake. Kai Po Che marked Sushant’s Bollywood debut. The film also stars Rajkumar Rao and Amit Saad in pivotal roles with Manav Kaul as supporting character.

Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (Amazon Prime Video)

Sushant played the titular role in this espionage film that revolves around the investigation of a man-missing case, led by youngster Byomkesh. He soon links the case to an international conspiracy. While the film didn’t do very well at the box office, it showcased the versatility of the late actor. The film also features the Bengali actress Swastika Mukerjee with Anand Tiwari.

Chhichhore (Disney+ Hotstar)

Chhichhore tells the story of a few IITians, who struggle during their college days and also after graduating. The National Award-winning movie has an ensemble cast featuring Sushant, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Naveen Polishetty and Tushar Pandey in significant roles.

Kedarnath (Zee5)

Kedarnath is a romantic drama based on the 2013 Kedarnath floods. The film revolves around two youngsters, played by Sushant and debutante Sara Ali Khan, who belong to different religions and reside in the Kedarnath Valley.

Dil Bechara (Disney+ Hotstar)

Dil Bechara is the Bollywood adaptation of John Greene’s 2012 novel The Fault in Our Stars. The coming-of-age romance film, featuring SSR and debutante Sanjana Sanghi, tells the story of a terminally-ill couple who meet through a cancer support group and fall in love with each other. However, their lives take a drastic turn later.
