Kangana Ranaut's puzzling pivot amid Tejas' OTT release and 12th Fail's success forces a U-turn on her equation with Vikrant Massey.

Kangana Ranaut recently gushed about actor Vikrant Massey, describing him as "beyond amazing" in an Instagram story for his incredible performance in 12th Fail. Plus, she said he reminded her of the late actor Irrfan Khan. In her unusual post, she also praised the film's director, Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Well, this should definitely come as a surprise, as Kangana's film Tejas clashed with 12th Fail at the box office, and the latter emerged as a winner. Moreover, a couple of years ago, the National Award actor called him a "cockroach" on Instagram, when she actually had no business doing so.
Kangana's emotional response to 12th Fail and Vidhu Vinod Chopra's impact
"What a terrific film," Kangana said with a poster for 12th Fail, while adding, "Coming from a Hindi medium myself, belonging to a rural village, and being a general caste student for entry tests without reservations in my school years, I was weeping throughout the film; uff I never cried so much in a flight; my co-passengers were stealing concerned glances at me; I am embarrassed. (sic)"
"Vidhu Sir has won my heart all over again," she wrote in her subsequent story. The actor went on to write, "Vikrant Massey is beyond amazing!! In his coming years, he might just fill the void Irfan Khan Saab left behind. Salutations to your talent, dear one. (sic)"
From "cockroach" to compliments
For the uninitiated, In 2021, Kangana slammed Vikrant, calling him a "cockroach" for whimsically referring to his friend and actor Yami Gautam as "Radhe Maa" in a photo at her wedding to Aditya Dhar. This sparked much outrage, and fellow Himachali Kangana responded by publicly slamming him on Instagram.
"Pure and pious like Radhe Maa," Vikrant wrote in response to Yami's photo of her all-red bridal attire, teasing her. "Kahan se nikla ye cockroach. Laao meri chappal (Where did this cockroach come from? Bring my slippers" was Kangana's defensive response, which was uncalled for.
Vikrant Massey's stoic response to Kangana Ranaut's previous criticism
However, Vikrant said when asked about the event in a subsequent interview with Bollywood Bubble that he really doesn't pay attention to all these things. Toxic people are something he makes an effort to avoid at all costs. That's why he has been quite outspoken about how infrequent his Twitter visits are. There isn't a better venue for public debate than that. However, on an individual level, he usually doesn't give much thought to such matters. To end, he will stealthily cite Marcus Aurelius, the Roman Emperor, who is one of his favourite authors. He also stated that one can certainly pray for the ignorant, and for the naive and uninformed, the most effective action is to pray for wisdom and extend best wishes.
Kangana Ranaut's recent positive remarks regarding the film 12th Fail and her support for Vikrant Massey exemplify the unpredictability of the entertainment industry and personal relationships. Although it's nice to see her recognising and valuing talent, it's hard to overlook the huge difference between her present attitude and her treatment of him, whom she once referred to as a "cockroach."
Given that Kangana has gone from openly condemning Massey to now complimenting him, some may wonder if she is being truthful and if her morals are consistent.
Tejas and 12th Fail's divergent paths
But given that Tejas is finally on OTT, premiered on ZEE5, and the film was panned by critics and cinegoers alike upon its theatrical release. On the other hand, everyone who saw 12th Fail during its theatrical run praised it. Moreover, on its Disney+ Hotstar release, the film is just garnering millions of views day by day, along with appreciation for the whole team.
