From American Conspiracy to Lover, Stalker, Killer - 5 new crime docufilms to watch out for on Netflix

Streaming giant Netflix has been serving some spine-chilling documentaries for fans of the true crime genre. From kidnappings or missing person investigations to brutal murders, the platform continues to offer gripping true stories with a compelling dramatization of the heinous crimes. The year 2024 has also witnessed some hard-hitting documentaries since January. Here is a list of docufilms, including recently added ones and those that are set to premiere on the streaming giant soon.   

Lover, Stalker, and Killer

The recent addition to the true crime genre is Lover, Stalker, Killer, which was unveiled during Valentine’s Week. It follows a single man, Dave Kroupa, who gets entangled in a dangerous love triangle. The twisted tale of love, betrayal, jealousy, extreme stalking, and murder will make you rethink trying internet dating. The docufilm stars Dave, who plays himself in the reenactment.

American Nightmare

This docuseries is a three-part gripping tale of mysterious abduction that became the talk of the town. The plot follows a worried boyfriend who reports his missing girlfriend. But things turn sinister, when the gone girl (Denise Huskins) returns, throwing the investigators into a frenzy. The intriguing case of hoax abduction and staged home investigation is a must-watch for fans of this genre.

Can I tell you a secret

This two-part limited series follows the lives of three women, whose lives take a dark turn when they become the target of a psycho stalker. With little or no evidence, it is fascinating how the investigators crack the mysterious case.  

The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth  

Slated to release on February 23, The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth explores the disappearance and murder case of Mumbai’s Sheena Bora. The infamous criminal case sparked a public outrage and media frenzy when the victim’s mother was accused of the brutal crime. This is a highly anticipated true crime film that explores Indira Mukerjea family's relationship dynamics and the unsolved investigation.

American Conspiracy

This upcoming documentary will be available to watch on February 28.
