SonyLIV’s upcoming original web series–Freedom at Midnight has ignited significant interest after the teaser drop. It depicts a crucial historical juncture where Mahatma Gandhi appeals to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to extend an olive branch to Muhammad Ali Jinnah in a desperate attempt to stop the 1947 Partition of India and stay united. While the teaser did not reveal much about the theme, the namesake book, Freedom at Midnight, written by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre, has details about the final years of British Raj in India. It's likely to cover the period of Lord Mountbatten’s appointment as Viceroy to Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination.
