The makers of the upcoming Malayalam movie, Footage, released its trailer today (July 12). The trailer hints at a film that will present several novel narrative approaches to Malayalam cinema. The film, which will mark Manju Warrier's first film with editor-turned-director Saiju Sreedharan, will be released in theatres on August 2.
The movie was postponed for unclear reasons, but it was originally scheduled to open in theatres in May. The updated release date was additionally disclosed by a new poster that showed off a glimpse of Manju Warrier's character. “Lost tapes. Untold truths,” the actress captioned a photo on Instagram.
A young couple who are living life to the fullest and documenting their most memorable moments can be seen in the two minutes and 37 seconds. But when a stranger walks into their lives, everything takes a surprising turn. After the movie opens in theatres, viewers will be able to determine whether Manju Warrier plays a leading lady or an antagonist.
The movie stars Vishak Nair and Gayathri Ashok in pivotal roles. According to its makers, Footage is a thriller that revolves around the story of a curious young couple.
