The makers of the upcoming Malayalam movie, Footage, released its trailer today (July 12). The trailer hints at a film that will present several novel narrative approaches to Malayalam cinema. The film, which will mark Manju Warrier's first film with editor-turned-director Saiju Sreedharan, will be released in theatres on August 2.
The movie was postponed for unclear reasons, but it was originally scheduled to open in theatres in May. The updated release date was additionally disclosed by a new poster that showed off a glimpse of Manju Warrier's character. “Lost tapes. Untold truths,” the actress captioned a photo on Instagram.

The movie stars Vishak Nair and Gayathri Ashok in pivotal roles. According to its makers, Footage is a thriller that revolves around the story of a curious young couple.
The first poster for the series had internet users going crazy with the characters' bold looks and strong chemistry. The poster has piqued the interest of many online users, with some even assuming that Gayathri is Manju Warrier at first glance.
Actress Manju Warrier previously shared the poster of the main cast with the caption, “FOOTAGE CAN TELL WHAT WORDS CAN’T...”. For those who don't know, this movie marks the first instance of found-footage story in a Malayalam movie.
In addition to other actors playing supporting roles, Nanjiamma appears in the film. The director Saiju is also editing this film. Pop artist Sushin Shyam will compose the music for the footage. Movie Bucket will screen the movie in theatres throughout the state.
