Manju Warrier talked about her role in Rajinikanth's upcoming movie Vettaiyan in an interview with Kaumudy Movies. The actress revealed that she plays the wife of the Tamil superstar in the film. "Post-production work is underway, having recently wrapped up shooting," she stated.

Manju continued by saying that she has not yet dubbed any of the film's scenes. A stellar star cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, and others in key roles is part of the much-awaited project.

‘Busy with Tamil films’

When asked about her break from Malayalam cinema, the Lucifer star said that she has been busy with shoots in the Tamil industry for the past year. Based on the life of Nilambur Ayisha, her last Malayalam film was Ayisha, which is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Manju went on to say that she did not purposefully take a break from the Malayalam industry, however, Tamil offered her more intriguing projects.

Her next Malayalam film is the highly anticipated Prithviraj Sukumaran-directed Empuraan, starring Mohanlal. "I will be playing Priyadharshini Ramdas again in the film's sequel, which is primarily slated for release in the upcoming year," she declared. The actress described the project as exciting for her, despite having only shot a few parts in the movie and still having more to shoot.

‘Anurag Kashyap offered to present Footage in theatres’

Manju asserted that she had previously spoken with her close friend Anurag Kashyap about the specifics of her most recent movie, Footage. She went on, "I asked hi m to see it, and he liked it, offering to present the movie in theatres." Additionally, she described the film as a singular cinematic experience, replete with elements primarily identifiable to Gen Z. "Our goal is for the film to be well-received and embraced by the public," she stated. On August 2, the movie, which is Manju Warrier's first collaboration with editor-turned-director Saiju Sreedharan, will be released in theatres.
