The makers of the upcoming Malayalam movie, Footage, dropped a major update about its theatrical debut today (August 11). A new poster shared by the cast and crew features a glimpse of the main characters revealed the revised release date. The Manju Warrier-starrer was originally slated to hit theatres on August 2, but it was delayed in the wake of mourning the numerous people who perished in the Wayanad landslides.

What is Manju Warrier’s Footage all about?

A movie that will introduce multiple cutting-edge narrative techniques to Malayalam cinema is hinted at in the trailer. The movie will mark Manju Warrier's first collaboration with renowned editor-turned-director Saiju Sreedharan. For those who are unaware, this is the first Malayalam film to use a found-footage narrative.

The two minutes and 37 seconds show a young couple who are living life to the fullest and capturing their most treasured memories. But things take an unexpected turn when a stranger enters their lives. Viewers will be able to discern whether Manju Warrier plays a leading lady or an antagonist once the film opens in theatres.

Vishak Nair and Gayathri Ashok play important roles in the film as well. The makers of Footage claim that it is a thriller centred on the tale of an inquisitive young couple. The characters' striking appearances and compelling chemistry in the series' debut poster had internet users going crazy.
